Greece has launched an €8 million emergency compensation program targeting businesses on the island of Lesvos that purchased milk between March 15 and April 5.
Under the scheme, companies will be reimbursed based on the value of milk purchase invoices, capped at one-twelfth of their 2025 annual turnover.
Businesses must submit applications within 15 days to regional veterinary authorities.
Officials will verify the data before finalizing a list of beneficiaries.
Payments will be made after checks are completed, the ministry said, as part of measures addressing disruptions linked to recent animal disease controls.
