To date, approximately 26,000 tons of cargo have been transported in transit from the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia through the territory of Azerbaijan, Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Shahin Mustafayev, said during his speech at a meeting of the Azerbaijan–Russia Business Council, APA-Economics reports.
He stated that the main part of these cargoes consisted of wheat and fertilizers: “Effective cooperation has also been established with Russia in the financial sector. In particular, the share of national currencies in settlements in bilateral trade is steadily increasing. This indicator has reached 42% for export operations and 83% for import operations.
Azerbaijan’s tourism sector demonstrates high development potential. The implementation of the joint roadmap for 2024–2026 and active aviation connections contribute to the continuous growth of tourist exchange. Russian citizens traditionally make up a significant portion of foreign tourists visiting Azerbaijan and show sustained interest in the country’s tourism opportunities.
In particular, the “Sea Breeze” city-resort project located on the coast of the Caspian Sea creates a modern tourism infrastructure and an attractive destination for vacationers. Sea Breeze Resort hosted more than 100,000 guests during the summer season of 2025, with 78% of tourists being Russian citizens. According to the results of the current year, tourist flow is expected to increase by at least 30%.”
