CAIRO — Egyptian giants Zamalek SC booked their place in the CAF Confederation Cup final after holding Algeria’s CR Belouizdad to a goalless draw in Friday’s semi-final second-leg at Cairo International Stadium, advancing 1-0 on aggregate.

The White Knights capitalised on their first-leg victory in Algeria to secure progression and will now face either Olympique Safi or USM Alger in the final.

Zamalek’s narrow 1–0 away win proved to be the difference, as the return-leg in Cairo finished scoreless, confirming their place in the final.

The contest was largely balanced. Both sides had spells of possession, but real chances were hard to come by.

Zamalek thought they had broken the deadlock in the 26th minute when Palestinian striker Oday El-Dabbagh found the net, only for the effort to be ruled out for offside following a VAR review.

Moments before the interval, CR Belouizdad came close to opening the scoring with a dangerous attack that tested Zamalek’s defense.
