The LYNX KF41 is set to find its next home: Romania’s defense minister has effectively confirmed that the contract for the infantry fighting vehicles will be awarded to RHEINMETALL, regardless of the ongoing negotiations. A total of 300 new infantry fighting vehicles are to be procured for the Romanian Army. Since production of the LYNX takes place mainly in Hungary, there are doubts as to whether Romania can derive significant industrial or economic benefits from the production, even though RHEINMETALL plans to expand its operations in the country.
