Denmark's royal twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine receive confirmation

Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine of Demark received their confirmation on Saturday in a ceremony at Fredensborg Palace Church, according to a statement issued by the royal family on social media.

The event took place in the same church where Queen Margrethe II was confirmed in 1955 and King Frederik X in 1981.

A Danish language caption accompanying the social media statement read: “Moments from Their Royal Highness Princes Vincent and Princess Josephine’s confirmation in Fredensborg Palace Church.

In front of the Palace Church altar, the Prince and Princess were confirmed by the royal confessor, Bishop Henrik Wigh-Poulsen.

During the last 100 years, Fredensborg Palace Church has been the centre of special royal confirmations. Both Her Majesty Queen Margrethe and His Majesty The King were confirmed here in 1955 and 1981 respectively. Most recently the confirmations of His Royal Highness The Crown Prince in 2021 and Her Royal Highness Princess Isabella in 2022 have taken place in the Church.”
