Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova: North Macedonia to continue active dialogue with Azerbaijan

Cooperation with Azerbaijan in energy, information technology, tourism, and culture is among North Macedonia’s key foreign policy priorities, North Macedonian President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova told Report on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

The head of state emphasized the high level of current relations between Baku and Skopje, expressing confidence in their further strengthening. Recalling her visit to Azerbaijan last year, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova noted the productive nature of the meetings.

“During my visit to Baku, I had a broad exchange of views not only with President Ilham Aliyev but also with a number of ministers. I met with Ilham Aliyev several times and was deeply impressed by his level of preparedness and proactive stance on global issues, particularly on such an important topic as combating climate change,” the president emphasized.

She also highlighted the country’s successful partnership with the Nizami Ganjavi International Center.

“We are always open to our Azerbaijani partners. Our principle is that cooperation should not be limited to Europe alone, but should encompass broader regions. We intend to continue active dialogue in this area,” she concluded.
