Greece, N.Y. — Several teenage boys have been charged in connection to a stolen vehicle pursuit Sunday afternoon that started in Greece and ended in Rochester, according to the Greece Police Department.
Greece officers responded around 12:50 p.m. to a license plate reader alert that detected a stolen car in the area of Beach Avenue, police said. Officers quickly found the vehicle and tried to pull it over, but the driver, a 17-year-old boy, fled the scene, prompting a chase that ended on Rohr Street in Rochester.
Five juvenile suspects jumped out of the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, but were eventually caught by officers, according to police.
Police said five boys — ages 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 — are each charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, unauthorized use of a vehicle and obstruction of governmental administration. The 17-year-old is also charged with DWI, aggravated DWI, unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, reckless driving and resisting arrest.
