According to Leo Express, the locomotives will enter service in the coming weeks. At the same time, the new connections between the Czech Republic and Slovakia will launch. Under its partnership with Renfe, Leo Express will use Railpool Vectrons. They will haul 13-railcar Talgo trains. The trains will have capacity for 350 passengers.

Peter Köhler, CEO of Leo Express, said: “For the Talgo trains that will begin operating in the coming weeks between Prague and Bratislava and between Prague and Prešov, we have chosen the most modern multi-system locomotives. Their reliability underscores the quality of service that Leo Express customers have come to expect,”

As Leo Express notes, the Talgo trains combine a low-floor design with barrier-free accessibility. In addition, the tilting system and bogie construction should improve comfort on curved routes. Maximum speed is up to 200 km/h.

The new paint scheme continues the Leo Express visual identity. It applies to the locomotives and Talgo trains. It uses white and orange accents, plus graphic elements inspired by the tech sector. According to the company, the design highlights the brand’s dynamism, speed, and international character. Also, it matches the image already used on regional lines in the Pardubice region of the Czech Republic. The same design is used on the Bratislava–Komárno route in Slovakia.

Meanwhile, Railpool also commented on the cooperation. Torsten Lehnert, CEO of Railpool, said: “We are delighted to support Leo Express for the first time in cross-border passenger transport between the Czech Republic and Slovakia. By using modern, interoperable locomotives, Railpool enables the companies involved to operate seamlessly across borders, meeting the highest standards of safety, comfort, and sustainability,”
