The next trial session for the Albanian, Kastriot Cenko, who two years ago killed his wife with a hammer and hid her body in the attic, took place today in Greece.

The defendant has denied the charge, claiming he was furious as he apologized to his children and his wife’s family.

“I am a builder. I deny the accusation as it stands. I was in a state of rage, I was not in a calm state of mind as the indictment states, there was no premeditation,” he said, adding that everything happened suddenly.

“I want to apologize deeply to my children for separating them from their mother, and a deep apology to her family.”

Meanwhile, the victim’s mother testified that her daughter worked hard because her husband did not bring money home, while the next court hearing will be held next month.

“He called me and pretended to be worried about my daughter. He told me he had taken the suitcase and left. I wondered if he had really left for Albania. I asked my nephew ‘where is your mother’ and he said ‘I don’t know’,” Alba’s (the victim’s) mother testified.

With tears in her eyes, the victim’s mother said that despite everything, Cenko will not give her daughter back.

“It shouldn’t have come to this. My daughter told me she was sad, that she worked hard and that she was working three jobs because he wasn’t bringing money home. She had told me that she wasn’t having a good time at home, but not that she intended to abandon her husband and children. I don’t want anything to happen to her, I want him to give my daughter back. Can he?” she said.

When did the crime occur?

The serious incident occurred on November 29, 2024, in Ampelokipi. After hitting her in the head with a hammer, the Albanian hid Alba Cenko’s body in the attic of the house for a week.

While planning how he would justify her disappearance, Kastriot Cenko used the victim’s cell phone to deceive their minor sons and Alba’s family. The perpetrator had long been convinced that his wife was cheating on him with a friend.
