Kosovo Police have prevented a case of smuggling of goods worth tens of thousands of euros in the border area with North Macedonia. The case occurred in the mountainous area between the village of Radush and the road connecting the village of Goranc with Hani i Elezit.

According to the announcement, Border Police units, within the framework of the “Iron Shield” operational plan, have identified a vehicle that was moving on an illegal route from the territory of North Macedonia towards Kosovo.

“The driver of the vehicle and a passenger attempted to flee, but police managed to stop the vehicle and arrest one of the suspects, a citizen of North Macedonia,” the statement said.

During the search, various goods without relevant documentation were found and seized, with a value that, according to initial estimates, exceeds tens of thousands of euros.

By order of the competent prosecutor, the suspect was detained for 48 hours, while the vehicle and goods were confiscated as evidence in criminal proceedings.
