Jimmy Page attended a London performance by Bulgaria’s Grammy-winning women’s choir Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices, praising the singers after the concert.

“Jimmy Page came to greet us after our concert in London,” singer Snezhana Kastelova said on Facebook, sharing a video of the meeting.

In the recording, Page said he had owned a Bulgarian music record as a teenager featuring the choir, adding that the music had stayed with him.

“This evening you were absolutely astonishing,” he told the performers, adding “Blagodarya” — Bulgarian for “thank you”.

The ensemble was founded in 1952 within Bulgarian Radio’s folk music unit on the initiative of editor Georgi Boyadzhiev. Swiss producer Marcel Cellier released its recordings internationally between 1975 and 1989 under the name “Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices”, later adopted by the choir.

The group has since won a Grammy for traditional folk music and toured widely, promoting Bulgarian musical heritage abroad.
