Celtic boss Martin O’Neill has hailed Liam Scales’ “outstanding” progress at Parkhead after the Ireland defender committed his future to the club with a new contract until 2030.
The 27-year-old Wicklow man signed for the current Scottish champions in 2021 from Shamrock Rovers after coming up through UCD’s academy, and following a season-long loan at Aberdeen (2022/’23), he has gone on to establish himself as a key man in the Hoops’ defence in recent seasons.
