A special counsel team seized the prosecution’s internal network server as part of its investigation into former Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung’s alleged involvement in former President Yoon Suk Yeol’s short-lived martial law action in late 2024.
Investigators under Special Prosecutor Kwon Chang-young executed a search warrant for the ePROS network server run by the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office(SPO) in the southwestern city of Gwangju on Friday night.
It is the first time that a search and seizure operation was conducted for the entire ePROS server.
The special team had raided the SPO headquarters on Thursday as part of its probe against Shim.
The former chief prosecutor stands accused of receiving an instruction from the then-Justice Minister Park Sung-jae following Yoon’s martial law declaration on December 3, 2024 to dispatch prosecutors to the martial law investigation headquarters.
