President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko visited the Nursery-Kindergarten No. 2 preschool educational establishment of Belaruskali’s Department of Social Development and Housing-and-Communal Services during his working trip to the Gomel Region today

The kindergarten began its work on August 25th, 2021, celebrating its 5th anniversary this summer. Interestingly, the Petrikov facility has a real highlight: a splashing pool, actively used in summer months, providing hydrotherapeutic procedures to boys and girls.

During his visit to the kindergarten, Aleksandr Lukashenko drew attention to the neat residential buildings situated nearby. The Head of State was informed that these are residential houses, with rental apartments and a dormitory, which provide accommodation to specialists who have come to Petrikov to work. The local mining and processing complex, for example, currently employs 800 people, and the facility is expanding its production, since its ‘fertiliser sector’ is developing well.

“Are any accommodation related problems expected?” the President asked and was immediately assured that there would be no problems of the kind. “That’s the key point. The salary is decent here, but housing is the key aspect,” he added.

Meticulously inspecting the kindergarten and clarifying the details, Aleksandr Lukashenko visited another swimming pool of this institution: an indoor one. Small children had classes there. Meanwhile, older boys and girls greeted the President with creative performances, demonstrating their Belarusian Polesie Residents mini-show. The Head of State, in turn, gave children an impressive box with candies and ‘President’ sweets.

A meeting with future world champions followed then. Visiting the gym, Aleksandr Lukashenko remarked with a smile, “These are future world champions.” After hearing the embarrassed ‘we hope’ from the children, the Head of State said, “Why are you saying ‘hope’? You need to grow up! Our best athletes are from small towns and regional centres. Our athletes are here!”

The Nursery-Kindergarten No. 2 preschool educational establishment of Belaruskali’s Department of Social Development and Housing-and-Communal Services is designed for 240 children, and 161 boys and girls, including 40 early-age kids, attend it in the 2025/2026 academic year. Fifty-seven people, including 30 teachers, work here. The kindergarten is equipped with music and sports halls, medical and information-methodical rooms, as well as classrooms for a teacher-psychologist and a special education teacher, lego and interactive rooms, and a room of spiritual heritage.
