Three Seas Summit 2026
Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs is in Dubrovnik, Croatia on April 28th-29th to attend the Summit of the Three Seas Initiative – an economic cooperation platform proposed by the presidents of the region’s countries, consisting of 13 European Union countries geographically located between the Adriatic, Baltic, and Black Seas – Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Greece, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Hungary.
The Summit was held in Rīga in 2022, when quite a noise was made about it in Latvia, though in recent years it has received significantly less attention domestically.
“Discussions will focus on transport, energy and digital connectivity, enhancing energy security, on building up to strengthen strategic infrastructure, and boosting the resilience and competitiveness of the European Union. Particular emphasis will be placed on the role of financial institutions and private capital in delivering key projects,” according to the official website.
The Three Seas Initiative Summit is the highest-level political event of the Three Seas Initiative (3SI). It brings together heads of state and government of participating countries, as well as representatives of associated participating states, strategic partners and key international institutions.
