MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – The future of America’s defense took center stage Tuesday as leaders gathered for the Nuclear Triad Symposium in Minot.
General Stephen Davis, commander of the Global Strike Command, spoke about the role Minot plays in securing our nation.
Governor Kelly Armstrong addressed upgrades to the Sentinel program, which would replace the aging Minuteman III missile system.
“While readiness requires a variety of parts, vehicles and equipment, it relies on the hundreds of airmen who are deployed every day in the missile field. It is their grit, hard work and determination that deliver readiness,” said Gen. Davis.
“It’s a once-in-a-generation opportunity for us. But with that opportunity comes responsibility,” said Armstrong.
This is the second Nuclear Symposium held in Minot, with the first in 2024.
