European tourists’ trips to Belarus under the visa-free regime are the best way to combat NATO propaganda, which distorts the image of the republic – as stated by Aleksei Avdonin, the Chairman of the Belarusian Znanie [Knowledge] Society, when commenting on the State Border Committee’s data that 56,000+ European citizens have used the visa-free regime to visit Belarus since early 2026
In his talk with SB TV and Alfa Radio, the expert explained what tourists from Europe are attracted by in Belarus, “Our goods are of better quality, and some of them are cheaper. Take fuel, for example: it’s definitely cheaper. Inflation and unemployment are rising in Europe, and people are trying to find niches that would allow them to survive. Belarus is becoming extremely attractive to Europeans, so people are coming. We are open to our neighbours: come and see.”
Mr. Avdonin believes such trips are the best way to combat NATO propaganda, which – as he noted – says that ‘Belarus experiences a terrible socio-economic crisis and unemployment, with empty shelves at stores, high inflation and extremely poor people’. “In reality, when coming here, Europeans feel shocked as they see something completely different. Our grocery stores are full of products, and our goods are of good quality and sold at reasonable prices. Therefore, visa-free trips are the best way to oppose propaganda,” he stated.
