Southeast Polk Community School District is inviting the public to attend Friday’s 38th Annual Iowa Industrial Technology Expo. The district said it’s an opportunity for students to explore exhibits, connect with industry professionals, and learn more about careers in industrial technology. Students from across the state can submit projects in six categories, including transportation, robotics and material processing, according to a news release from the district. There will also be competitions where students can showcase their skills in welding, woodworking, and automotive repair. The expo takes place Friday, May 8, at Southeast Polk High School gymnasium and parking lot in Pleasant Hill. Doors open at 7 a.m., and it starts at 9 a.m. The full schedule can be found here.
