Can we expect another nine-goal thriller in Wednesday’s Champions League semifinal second leg between Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, after PSG won the first leg 5-4? Both sides seem to believe the Allianz Arena is in for another wild match.
“The intensity that there was, the commitment, the goals. It was just exceptional,” PSG midfielder Warren Zaïre-Emery said of the first leg. “And frankly, we expect the same thing, the same match, and even more. We are ready, we have a clear objective and we will try to get to the final.”
PSG manager Luis Enrique wasn’t too thrilled with the scoreline, despite his team holding the one-goal advantage.
“It’s nothing,” Enrique said on Tuesday. “It’s just one goal. We are ready. We know Bayern Munich can get back into the match and we can also score goals. And we are certainly not here to defend. We’re trying to win the game.”
PSG are the reigning champions after defeating Inter Milan 5-0 in last year’s final, which happened to take place at the Allianz Arena. Bayern Munich won the competition in 2020, defeating PSG 1-0 in Lisbon.

Achraf Hakimi will not be available for Luis Enrique in Wednesday’s second leg against Bayern Munich due to injury. The Moroccan international suffered a right thigh injury in the first leg and the club said in a statement the full back will miss “the next few weeks.”
He could be available for the May 30 Champions League final should PSG advance and should be fine to take part in next month’s World Cup.
