Pest incursions into Ireland are increasing due to climate change and could ultimately threaten the food we eat, Agriculture Minister Martin Heydon has warned.
The arrival of mosquitoes and Asian hornets into Ireland is a sign of the problem as insects are diverted from traditional habitats, while the surge in global trade carries with it a risk of importing weevils, beetles and other plagues.
