The incident occurred on Saturday, May 2, at a rest area for drivers on the B44 highway.
Around 1:30 AM, the 56-year-old truck driver, while in the cab of his parked truck, heard a noise outside. Looking out, he saw an unknown man siphoning diesel fuel.
When the Belarusian tried to stop the perpetrator and call law enforcement, the man hit the vehicle’s side mirror with a crowbar, then fled the scene in a white DAF Truck without license plates. The truck driver hid in his cab, locking it.
Around 30 liters of diesel fuel were stolen. Law enforcement is now looking for the suspect – he is described as a thin man in dark outerwear, black trousers, and black and white sneakers. They are also asking for possible witnesses to come forward.
