According to the National Bank, this is the first Belarusian commemorative coin introduced into circulation almost 30 years ago — on December 27, 1996. It is dedicated to the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the United Nations.

The coins were minted by the Royal Mint in London as part of an international coin program.

In total, 5,000 gold coins with a face value of 1 ruble were produced by order of the National Bank. The main part of the mintage was sold on the international numismatic market.

The seller of the coin currently listed for sale is located in the USA. However, delivery of the item to Belarus is not offered.
