Le Rally The 2026 Portugal Rally will be remembered as one of the most challenging rallies of the 2026 season. WRCThe incessant rain, mud and hellish conditions reshuffled the cards several times throughout the weekend, making and unmaking the hierarchies special stage after special stage. Thierry NeuvilleWhile he only managed two fastest stage times, he wasn’t necessarily the most impressive, but he managed to avoid the pitfalls where his rivals successively faltered. He finished the race in 3:53:01.7, 16,3 seconds ahead of Oliver Solberg and 29,1 seconds ahead of Elfyn Evans.

The biggest victim is Sébastien OgierLeading until SS22, the penultimate stage of the rally, the driver from Gap suffered a puncture that dashed his hopes of victory in a matter of seconds. The previous day, during SS17, he had seemed to have the race firmly in hand, building a lead of over eleven seconds on the rest of the field. He ultimately finished sixth. Adrien fourmaux, fourth, finishes with his head held high, but above all with the victory on the Power Stage and five additional points in the standings.

In the championship standings, Elfyn Evans remains the leader with 123 points, twelve points ahead of Takamoto Katsuta and 31 ahead of Oliver Solberg in third. Sébastien Ogier, in sixth place, failed to make a successful return to the title race despite a near-perfect performance. In WRC2, Finland’s Teemu Suninen took the win ahead of Nikolay Gryazin, while Yohan Rossel’s off-road excursion in SS17 dashed his podium hopes.
