“In 1998, approximately 150 thousand people held a state hunter’s license. About 10 years ago, this number stabilized at 100 thousand people, and now it has slightly decreased to 98 thousand and has remained at this level in recent years,” said Alexander Kazarez.

According to him, while about 1.1 thousand people became hunters annually before the “COVID” year of 2020, after 2020, 1.7-1.8 thousand people become hunters per year:

“We see that there has been an interest in this type of activity, in this type of tourism in the country. Our citizens have become interested in this direction.”

Sergei Tsebruk, head of the hunting, fishing, and tourism department of the Belarusian Society of Hunters and Fishermen, added that the society currently has about 61 thousand hunters and fishermen. Hunters account for 32.7 thousand.
