COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — An upcoming event at Columbus State University aims to highlight local bonds with South Korea.
The Korean Institute at Columbus State (KICS) launched in 2025. In a week, it will host the inaugural “Korea-Georgia Dialogue” on May 20.
It’s a free event which KICS director Dr. Dae Woo Lee says is aimed at creating a space for in-depth discussions, fostering connections and even opening career opportunities.
Four expert panelists will discuss the bond between our state and South Korea in security, culture, politics, and economic opportunities and innovation.
“We are trying to focus on academic exchange, like student or faculty exchange, but at the same time we are emphasizing industry connection,” said Lee. “So [this] is very unique around the nation, given our location as well as the size of the school.”
Georgia is home to Korean industry giants like J.S. Link and KIA.
