Journalist and publisher of the newspaper KOHA, Lirim Dullovi, has reacted sharply to recent developments regarding the protests of Albanian students in North Macedonia, criticizing the stance of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

In a public status, Dullovi expresses concern that the protests for the right to use the Albanian language are taking place at a time when, according to him, for the first time a Kosovo prime minister is not supporting Albanians in the country, but is lining up to defend policies that, as he emphasizes, violate the Albanian language and dignity.

To illustrate the gravity of this situation, Dullov makes a historical comparison with the 90s, when autonomy was abolished in Kosovo and repressive measures were imposed by the Serbian regime. He emphasizes that if, at that time, an Albanian party from North Macedonia had supported the collaborative structures of the Slobodan Milosevic regime, such an action would have been considered unacceptable.

    Lirim Dullov’s full post:

    Thank you, Kosovo!

The protests by Albanian students for the Albanian language are taking place at a time when, for the first time, a Kosovo prime minister, Albin Kurti, is not only not supporting the Albanians of Macedonia, but has come to the political defense of those who are today producing policies against the Albanian language and against Albanian dignity.

To understand the gravity of this behavior, a historical comparison is sufficient.

Imagine if in the 90s, when Serbia suppressed Kosovo’s autonomy and installed violent measures through Rahman Morina, Hysamedin Azemi, Ali Shukri and the Sejdo-Bajramovics of the time, the then PDP in Macedonia, as a major Albanian party, came out in political defense of those Milosevic quislings in Kosovo.

    Fortunately, this did not happen.

But, if it had happened, what would our brothers in Kosovo call this behavior?

Would they call it political neutrality, or would they call it by its proper name: treason?

    Thank you, Kosovo!
