We have these transformer boxes around the neighbourhood, and they have red lights on top of them. This one has been lit up for a few days and it’s emitting a very high beeping noise. Should I be worried?

These boxes aren’t transformers. It’s where the power is distributed and fused. IIRC the red lights are meant to be installed on boxes which arent easily visible at night, so no one drives them over
Is it in a very rural area? I know these boxes + lights from wastewater treatment systems. If the light is on, the system has an issue and needs some maintenance.
Googling a bit finds lots of threads with answers by people making bad jokes and who also have no idea, but they mentioned the word “Abwasserhebeanlage”, and the image in [this thread](https://old.reddit.com/r/AusRenovation/comments/1l19xdl/what_is_this_pump_and_why_does_the_red_light_on/) looks similar, even though it’s not in Germany, and they also came to the conclusion “septic sump pump”.

If it’s not on your (rented) property, probably not… But you could call your landlord and ask?
Oh its Germany, fill in a few forms and in a few months someone will come and give it a kick.
