An average of 1,573,000 viewers watched the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 live on ORF 1, as Austria hosted the competition for a third time. The contest was a ratings hit, with the audience for the final up by 676,000 viewers on the 2025 final. Overall, the final had an audience share of 78% of television viewers. The figures represent the largest audience for the contest in Austria since 2015, when Austria last hosted the contest.

Austria has won the contest three times, the first being in 1966 when Udo Jürgens performed “Merci, Chérie”. It was 48 years later when Austria won again in 2014, when Conchita Wurst performed “Rise Like a Phoenix”, scoring a total of 290 points. Austria’s third win came in 2025, when JJ sang “Wasted Love” and scored 436 points.
