Internationally renowned Albanian singer, Bebe Rexha, has come out in support of Albanian students in North Macedonia, who have announced a protest for the right to use the Albanian language in the Jurisprudence exam.

Through a post on social media, she stated that the Albanian language is deeply rooted in the national identity of Albanians and that entire generations have fought to preserve and keep it alive.

“Our Albanian language is deeply rooted in our identity. For generations we have fought to preserve it and keep it alive,” she wrote, albinfo.ch reports.

Furthermore, Bebe Rexha stated that North Macedonia is a multiethnic state, built on coexistence and equal rights for all communities, where the Albanian language is recognized as a co-official language.

“Albanian students deserve the same rights and opportunities as everyone else,” she said.
