Late goals crucial as Waterford eventually seen off at the Gaelic Grounds.
Limerick’s hurlers have their second win of the Munster Championship as they eventually wore Waterford down to record a 2-29 to 2-20 win at the TUS Gaelic Grounds.
John Kiely’s side started well in wintry conditions before Waterford came into the game and took the lead with a number of long range scores in the 1st half.
Cian Lunch came on for Adam English towards the end of the 1st half with the Doon midfielder on a yellow.
Peter Queally’s side who need a win to have any chance of progression led 0-16 to 0-15 at the break.
The Deise got a real boost with a Kevin Mahony goal to lead 1-17 to 0-18 points.
Waterford led by two with 9 minutes remaining before two quick fire goals from Limerick changed the game as Peter Casey and Gearoid Hegarty hit the net.
A late Shane Bennet goal couldn’t change the result as Limerick ran out 9 points winners.
