‘Salmokji’ Becomes Most-Watched South Korean Horror Movie of All Time

    “Salmokji: Whispering Water” has become the most popular South Korean horror movie of all time.

    According to the Korean Film Council, the folk horror film sold 90-thousand-972 tickets from Friday to Sunday, bringing the total to three-point-17-million. 

    It has now surpassed the 2003 psychological horror flick “A Tale of Two Sisters,” which sold three-point-14 million tickets. 

    “Salmokji,” which premiered April 8, follows a film crew attempting to shoot at a remote reservoir that begins to witness paranormal activity. 

    The movie is directed by Lee Sang-min and stars Kim Hye-yoon as the crew’s producer.
