Casper, Wyo. – Memorial Day weekend is full of traditional events and there is one in town that is on its fifth year of supporting a local non-profit.
“Memorial Day Weekend traditionally is a big weekend for automobiles in the city of Casper. There’s many car shows,” said Bruce Berst, Coordinator of the show.
Oil Capital Auto Club is having their fifth annual science zone car show this show happens just as you would suspect…at the science zone.
However, this car show has a mission. Berst tells me the group was once called Cruisin with the Oldies and had to move locations as they grew larger – choosing the Science Zone as the nonprofit to support.
“We picked the science zone because of its connection with the youth in the community and its location in the city.”
The science zone car show will have cars, food, and much more and the hope is to have 200 cars for everyone to enjoy.
Berst mentions the money they make gets donated and they do this as a way to give back and for personal enjoyment.
“it’s a way of giving back to the community in one way and I’ve been associated with oil capital auto club for many years, and I own six classic cars myself.”
The Science Zone Car Show will be on Sunday, May 24th, from 8 am until 3 pm.
Car owners will only have a 20-dollar entry fee but there is no pre-registration.
There will also be the artistic talents of Shannon Watts Arts and Design.
