Unionized workers at Samsung Electronics will vote over the next six days to ratify the labor and management’s unprecedented deal struck on Wednesday that includes performance-based bonuses.

The electronic voting is set to be held between 2 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Wednesday, and if the tentative agreement wins support from a majority after ballots are cast by a majority of registered members, the deal would become binding.

If the deal fails to win support from the majority, labor and management would have to return to the negotiating table.

The two sides agreed to set aside ten-point-five percent of an agreed-upon performance figure as bonuses for the device solutions(DS) unit, on top of Samsung’s existing excess-profit bonus program.

The union earlier postponed a strike that was planned to start on Thursday, after reaching the last-minute deal roughly an hour before it was set to begin.
