The allegations come as authorities face mounting scrutiny over reported security breaches involving the office of President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova and members of the current government.
Opposition leader Venko Filipče of North Macedonia’s Social Democratic Union (SDSM) has openly accused Deputy Prime Minister Ivan Stoilković of maintaining links with Serbian intelligence services connected to the government of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, amid an escalating espionage scandal shaking the country’s political establishment.
The allegations come as authorities face mounting scrutiny over reported security breaches involving the office of President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova and members of the current government.
Stoilković, who is also reported to hold Serbian citizenship, is widely known for supporting the concept of the so-called “Serbian World” — a nationalist vision promoting Serbian political and cultural influence across the Balkans. He has also publicly expressed close ties with pro-Kremlin circles.
“This is a scandal that must be fully clarified,” Filipče said. “If information has truly leaked from a NATO member state, as the media reports suggest, then this is an extremely serious matter and people must be held accountable — including the president.”
The SDSM leader added that the allegations did not surprise him, accusing the ruling coalition of maintaining connections with actors aligned with Russian interests.
“We have a deputy prime minister — Stoilković — who collaborates with Serbian intelligence services and maintains ties with the Night Wolves, a group closely associated with Vladimir Putin,” Filipče stated. “Sensitive information is leaving the country every day. This is part of the governing model and the broader concept behind this administration.”
The “Night Wolves” are a Russian nationalist biker group known for their close relationship with the Kremlin and support for Russian geopolitical initiatives across Eastern Europe and the Balkans. | BGNES
