DRI, subsidiary of the energy holding company DTEK, has received the commercial operating license for its 126 MW Văcărești solar park in Romania. It has received approval from the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE). With the commissioning, DRI’s installed and operational renewable capacity in Romania has reached to 299 MW. The solar plant will produce energy for 50,000 homes per year while saving 48,600 tons of CO2 emissions yearly. The project also secured up to €60 million (~ $69.61 million) in non-recourse financing from UniCredit and Garanti BBVA. Starting in January 2027, 50% of the electricity generated by the project will be supplied to OMV Petrom under a long-term physical solar power purchase agreement. DRI’s Romanian portfolio also includes the Glodeni I and II solar parks and the 60 MW AC Ruginoasa onshore wind project. Prior to this DRI and Monsson Operation in Romania has signed 299 MW O&M deal.
