The reception organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Moldova on the occasion of Azerbaijan’s Independence Day brought together in Chisinau diplomats accredited in Moldova, officials, representatives of the Azeri community, as well as guests from the cultural and political spheres. The event was marked by speeches about Moldovan-Azerbaijani relations, bilateral cooperation and the history of Azerbaijan, as well as by an artistic programme dedicated to Azeri culture.

During the reception, Ambassador Ulvi Bakhshaliyev highlighted the upward development of relations between Azerbaijan and Moldova, as well as the increasingly important role of his country on the international stage. Moldova was represented by Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea at the event.

The evening also included a recital by Alexei Botnarciuc, soloist of the Maria Biesu National Opera and Ballet Theatre, who performed pieces from the repertoire of the famous Azeri artist Muslim Magomayev. At the same time, guests had the opportunity to discover traditional Azerbaijani gastronomy, being served typical dishes and authentic Azeri specialties.
