    Basketball Champions League winners Rytas Vilnius suffered a historic loss in the Lithuanian League quarterfinals.

    In Game 2 on their home floor in Vilnius, heavy favorites Rytas suffered a 101-95 defeat against Juventus Utena, losing the series 0-2.

    It is the first time since 1997 that Rytas have failed to advance to the LKL semifinals.

    It is also the first time in league history that a seventh-seeded team has eliminated the second-placed regular-season team in the quarterfinals.

    Juventus were led by former Los Angeles Lakers forward Maxwell Lewis, who made a huge impact on both ends of the court, finishing with 24 points, 5 rebounds, and an efficiency rating of 34.

    American guard Hassan Diarra also came up big for Juventus, dropping 30 points.

    Meanwhile, for Rytas, Speedy Smith finished as the team’s top scorer with 20 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.
