Classifieds registration help

I want to register on https://www.kleinanzeigen.de and sms authentication seems to not work for non German (but still EU) phone number. Is this common issue, or some sort of bot / scammer protection measure? Any suggestion what to do?

I need it for a single purchase of certain camper equipment, which is not really available second-hand where I live.
