Skies will gradually turn cloudy nationwide on Monday, the substitute holiday for Buddha’s Birthday, with rain beginning on Jeju Island during the day and spreading to southern regions overnight.
Rain is expected to expand across the country on Tuesday, with some areas forecast to see heavy downpours of 30 to 50 millimeters per hour.
Through Tuesday, precipitation along the southern coast and near Mount Jiri is expected to reach 80 to more than 200 millimeters. South Jeolla and South Gyeongsang Provinces could receive 50 to 100 millimeters.
The Seoul metropolitan area, central regions, and North Jeolla and North Gyeongsang Provinces are forecast to see 30 to 80 millimeters of rain.
Monday morning temperatures will range from 12 to 18 degrees Celsius nationwide, with daytime highs between 22 and 30 degrees, similar to Sunday.
In Seoul, morning temperatures will fall to 18 degrees before rising to 30 degrees in the afternoon.
