Portuguese law firm Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva & Associados has deepened its Asia presence after forming a strategic partnership with Macau-based Lupi & Associates.
The alliance with Lupi & Associates, founded in 2018 by managing partner José Lupi, gives Morais Leitão its third Asia-Pacific node alongside existing presences in Singapore and Timor-Leste.
The partnership is designed to provide coordinated legal support for cross-border transactions spanning Portugal, Macau, mainland China, sub-Saharan Africa and Timor-Leste. Priority sectors include renewable energy, oil and gas, mining in Angola, Mozambique and Timor-Leste, infrastructure across Africa, pharmaceutical manufacturing and immigration services for high-net-worth individuals.
Lupi & Associates focuses on cross-border commercial transactions connecting Greater China, the Greater Bay Area and Lusophone markets worldwide.
Morais Leitão opened its Singapore office, its first in Asia, in 2023. It followed that in 2024 with a strategic partnership with Timor-Leste firm JLA, Advogados e Consultores.
