Russia launched a barrage of missiles and drones at Kyiv and other targets inside Ukraine, including an Oreshnik intermediate range ballistic missile in Bila Tserkva. The attack was supposedly in retaliation for the Ukrainian strike on a dormitory in Starobilsk.
Bila Tserkva is south of Kyiv. Oreshnik is a multi-stage, high-altitude missile that can reach Mach 10 and deploy multiple independently targeted warheads.
People took refuge in the Kyiv metro system tunnels but there was damage there also.
This poor dog was scared to death by the rumbling of the drones and missiles in Kyiv.
The coffee must be served.
An unexploded Russian warhead had to be removed.
Russian bloggers were not impressed by the Oreshnik strike, calling it mostly for show.
2/ The ultra-nationalist ‘Russian Movement of Strelkov’ (a group of supporters of the imprisoned Igor Girkin) is scathing about the use last night of Oreshnik against targets in Kyiv and Bila Tserkva:
3/ “Hmm… Just another bunch of empty shells that, aside from being “kind of a cool special effect,” don’t really accomplish anything—or are we supposed to be thrilled about the craters they leave behind, which won’t punish the enemy for Starobilsk in the slightest?
4/ “What can I say, a strategically brilliant proposal from our Ministry of Defence — to launch a strike on Saturday-to-Sunday night… What can I say, if you want to celebrate a record in firing ballistic missiles — go ahead, but it has zero usefulness.
5/ “By morning, it’ll turn out that not a single bridge has been destroyed, nor the Kyiv Hydroelectric Power Plant or the Kaniv Hydroelectric Power Plant.
6/ “And yes, the front-row spectators are watching the action with enthusiasm; the adrenaline is pumping, but there’s no fear. It’s just interesting to watch the “lights” there; they don’t feel any threat, and judging by the footage, the lighting is fine there too—just saying…”
The bloggers (above) think they didn’t get their money’s worth from the Oreshnik, see below.
And then there are the bloggers, including a special guest appearance from Drunk Dmitry, who are positively gleeful at the idea of dead Ukrainians.
Dmitry Medvedev: “We must hit them again — like we did today, but much harder still! After all, ruins and grey ash where their capital’s symbols once stood will demoralize the enemy more than losing a standard on the battlefield.”
Telegram channel @swodki: “There were just two dead khokhols as a result of the mass attack on Kiev.”
….
Milblogger Daniil Bezsonov: “If you have decided to destroy yourselves as an entire people under Zelensky’s control, then you should understand how it will all end…It will only get worse from here.”
Journalist Sasha Kots: “You wanted to plunge Moscow into darkness…and rejoiced at the smoke over Tuapse. This is the boomerang principle in action.”

Ukraine also struck targets across southern Russia and Crimea.
The list includes a hit on the oil loading berth at the “Tamanneftegaz” terminal in Volna, Krasnodar Krai. According to the statement, a loading stander was damaged. The terminal is one of Russia’s key Black Sea export oil facilities, with an annual capacity of up to 20 million tonnes of crude and petroleum products, and is used to support Russia’s military supply system.
The General Staff also reported strikes on ammunition storage sites in Mizhhiria in occupied Crimea, as well as logistics and ammunition depots and a fuel and lubricants storage site near Bilolutsk in Luhansk Oblast.
Ukrainian forces also struck UAV command and control points in Borisivka in Russia’s Belgorod Oblast, Voskresenka in occupied Donetsk Oblast, and Tetkino in Kursk Oblast. Additional strikes were reported against troop concentrations near Volfynskyi in Kursk Oblast.
The General Staff said strikes also reached the Russian Black Sea Fleet base in Novorossiysk, where the patrol ship Pytlivy and a missile hovercraft were damaged. The extent of damage is still being assessed.
Resistance is futile.
Another oil pumping station came under attack.

Russia bombed a rec center near Odesa, injuring nine, including three children.

Ukraine’s ability to destroy Russian supply trucks in the rear is becoming a major factor in this war.
Previously, you needed teams operating behind enemy lines in order to disrupt enemy logistics. This was always a difficult and often costly process, but the payoffs were huge when it worked, see partisan or guerilla warfare.
Today you just send low-cost drones, hundreds or even thousands of them, achieving the same or even better results with a fraction of risks, efforts and investments.
Another 1,110 Russians plus two air defense systems.
Let’s check in on the Russian economy.
