Surrounded by the otherworldly landscapes of Iceland’s Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Iceland Eclipse Festival is a four-day gathering where music, art, science, wellness, space, and technology converge beneath one of nature’s rarest celestial events: the total solar eclipse of 2026. Created as a space to dance, connect, learn, and explore, the festival invites guests into an immersive experience shaped by Iceland’s wild beauty, and spirit of discovery.

On 12 August 2026 at 17:47 UTC, the path of totality will pass directly over Snæfellsnes, plunging the peninsula into more than two minutes of complete darkness, one of the longest eclipse totalities visible anywhere on Earth. Positioned at Iceland’s westernmost edge, the region offers an extraordinary vantage point for this historic phenomenon, which will not return to Iceland again until 2196.

Set among the glaciers, volcanic craters, black sand beaches, waterfalls, and windswept coastlines surrounding Hellissandur, Iceland Eclipse is intentionally intimate, welcoming just 3,333 guests. Across four days, the festival weaves together live music, immersive art, science, storytelling, technology, wellness, talks, Side Quests, and curated excursions designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and human connection.

The full musical lineup brings together an eclectic mix of global talent, including Imogen Heap, Reggie Watts, Booka Shade, Nightmares on Wax, Kenny Dope, Dave Clarke, Maribou State, Quantic, Zero 7, and Ryan Hope.

Among the festival’s most extraordinary experiences are a series of intimate performances and gatherings set deep within Iceland’s natural wonders. Guests will descend beneath Europe’s second-largest glacier, Langjökull, for a secret performance by Nightmares on Wax inside a hidden chamber carved into ancient blue ice tunnels, limited to just 100 attendees. Beneath the Snæfellsjökull volcano, Icelandic artists Ásgeir and Emilíana Torrini will perform inside the 8,000-year-old Vatnshellir lava cave, where only 50 guests will enter the volcanic chamber for this once-in-a-lifetime concert experience.

The program also features filmmaker Darren Aronofsky hosting a live storytelling session inspired by Iceland’s mythology, landscapes, and elemental energy; Imogen Heap presenting her experimental “Him Gone Ape” project using her groundbreaking Mi.Mu gloves for fully improvised live performances; and Reggie Watts delivering an intimate evening of storytelling, improvisation, and comedy. Visionary artists Alex Grey and Allyson Grey will also join the festival to explore the intersections of creativity, consciousness, and spirituality through talks and immersive conversations.

The experience now begins a day earlier, on the evening of August 11th, with a newly introduced Welcome Ceremony designed to bring the global community together before the eclipse. Guests will gather to meet, connect, and open the festival alongside Icelandic elders and musicians sharing stories, mythology, and traditions rooted in the land itself. Hosted by Unify.org and culminating in a musical journey by AWARË, the ceremony sets the atmosphere for the days ahead. Due to the remote location of the peninsula, guests are strongly encouraged to arrive by August 11th to ensure they are present for the eclipse on August 12th.
