British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Polish Head of Government Donald Tusk are expected to officially conclude the pact during a meeting in London on Wednesday. The leaders plan to discuss hybrid threats, including cyberattacks, espionage, and sabotage, which, according to British authorities, are linked to Russia.
“This treaty is the biggest step forward in our defense and security relationship with Poland in a generation,”
Starmer stated.
According to him, the agreement will help the countries “counter modern security threats that may be less visible but are no less dangerous.”
Under the agreements, Britain and Poland intend to jointly develop a next-generation medium-range air defense missile, as well as conduct large-scale military exercises. London emphasized that the parties will also strengthen cooperation to counter “attempts by hostile state actors to sow discord.”
