Organised by the Parish Council of Silves, the event will once again bring together gastronomy, music and regional traditions in a programme aimed at promoting local culture and the heritage of the Algarve interior.
Taking place at Praça Al-Mutamid in the historic centre of Silves, the festival will feature 18 local associations presenting their own versions of “papas de milho”, a traditional corn-based dish closely linked to Algarve rural cuisine. Visitors will also be able to browse handicrafts and regional products while enjoying live entertainment throughout the three-day event.
This year’s programme includes performances by Dados Viciados, a tribute band to Portuguese rock group Xutos & Pontapés, Diapasão featuring Marante, Andreia Rio, as well as dance, gymnastics and folk performances by local groups and artists.
The festival has become one of the municipality’s traditional cultural gatherings, highlighting local identity and customs while attracting visitors to the historic area of Silves.
