Political parties continue their activities today as part of the second day of campaigning for the extraordinary elections for the Assembly of Kosovo, organizing election rallies in several municipalities across the country.

Vetëvendosje Movement will hold a rally in Istog at 5:00 p.m. and in Pejë at 7:30 p.m. At the official campaign launch, party leader and prime ministerial candidate Albin Kurti presented program priorities, promising multi-billion-euro investments in Brezovica, Rugova, and the Bjeshkët e Nemuna, a one-billion-euro increase in capital expenditures, as well as investments in manufacturing and defense, including the creation of a drone and ammunition factory.

The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) will hold rallies in Kaçanik and Hani i Elezit (5:00 p.m.), in Shtime (6:00 p.m.), in Fushë Kosovë (7:30 p.m.), and in Prishtinë (8:30 p.m.). At the opening rally at the “1 Tetori” hall, LDK candidate for prime minister Lumir Abdixhiku said the party is united and ready for the political challenges ahead. He criticized the current government, also mocking the distribution of 100 euros to citizens by the caretaker prime minister.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) will hold rallies in Gjakovë (6:00 p.m.) and in Pejë (7:30 p.m.). PDK leader and prime ministerial candidate Bedri Hamza presented his political program at the campaign launch, promising lower prices, higher wages and pensions, and investments in the economy, energy, and healthcare. He criticized the current government for economic, social, and political stagnation. The opening rally was also joined by Fatmir Limaj, leader of the Social Democratic Initiative.

The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) will hold a rally in Rahovec at 8:00 p.m. The party’s campaign was launched in Gjakovë, where Ramush Haradinaj described candidate Ardian Gjini as one of the most prepared candidates to lead the country. According to him, Kosovo needs joint engagement to overcome current challenges.

The election campaign will last 10 days and seven hours and will end on June 7 at 6:59 a.m. The approved budget for organizing the elections is 10.88 million euros.

The extraordinary elections are being held after an institutional crisis caused by the failure to elect a president within the constitutional deadline, which led the country into a new electoral process.

Meanwhile, the organization Democracy in Action (DnV) announced that around 550 observers will be engaged in monitoring the electoral process across Kosovo.
