The Billings West Golden Bears beat CMR 10-0 to claim the AA softball state title on Saturday in Missoula.

It was a dominant 2026 Class AA state tournament for the Golden Bears from Billings West. They capped off a state title with their fourth straight shutout after beating CMR 10-0 in five innings. Tatum Bush pitched every game for the Bears and didn’t allow a single run across the two days.

Billings West jumped on CMR right away when Alise Steinmetz hits a first inning grand slam to deep center. Bush, Asa Edwards, and Sarah Beth Snyder all drive in runs in the first two innings to give West an 8-0 lead after two. Bush closed the door in the circle from there giving West their first state title since 2014.

“Honestly I’m just I’m filled with so much pride. I’m so proud of all the girls and myself and the hard work that we’ve done and all the energy that we brought into this tournament,” said Bush.

Safe to say it will be a fun bus ride back to Billings. “Oh, yeah, we’re going to party it up. We have the music blasting. We’re stopping at Dairy Queen. Coach promised we could get Dairy Queen if we want, so yea!” said Steinmetz.
