A professional basketball player and a former Schenley High School basketball player was taken into custody Friday for owing more than $100,000 in child support. Allegheny County Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus said 36-year-old DeAndre Kane has been a fugitive since 2023, after he failed to appear for a Family Court hearing about missed child support payments. The sheriff’s office, Allegheny County Police Department, and the United States Department of State worked together this week when they learned Kane would be returning to Pittsburgh on Friday from Iceland, where he currently lives while continuing his pro-basketball career.
