“The crew member has not been sighted since falling overboard,” the spokesperson said.
The crew member is a foreign national and the relevant foreign mission has been informed, Maritime NZ said.
The incident comes about six weeks after a crew member was lost overboard from the fishing vessel Mariner while working in the Southern Ocean.
The Transport Accident Investigation Commission (TAIC) said the crew member was knocked overboard by a float while deploying fishing gear.
The search was later suspended.
Maritime NZ said it would be investigating the latest incident and police had been notified.
