Fire authorities have begun work to extinguish a fire at the Hanwha Aerospace facility in the central city of Daejeon on Monday after receiving dozens of reports.
Authorities said around 30 emergency calls had come in since just before 11 a.m., with most of the callers mentioning smoke and the sound of an explosion.
No injuries have yet been verified.
The police and fire authorities reportedly suspect that a propellant set off an explosion at the facility.
They are expected to launch an investigation once the fire is out to determine the cause.
