The participants highlighted the strong bilateral ties between the two parties. The NOC Head mentioned that representatives from the Russian region are always warmly welcomed in Belarus and can rely on the country’s support.

“In sports, as in other areas, we share many common interests. In Primorye, everyone loves sports — from the governor to schoolchildren. We will continue to liaise in this field. It is important for us to use your facilities when preparing for international competitions in the Asian region,” Viktor Lukashenko emphasised.

Oleg Kozhemyako noted that sports delegations from Belarus are consistently greeted warmly in the Russian region, and the conditions in Belarus assist teams and athletes from Primorye in preparing for major competitions.

“Our hockey club, Admiral, holds its KHL Championship training sessions in Minsk every year. Excellent facilities have been established there. Last season, Minsk’s Dinamo achieved impressive results, and we aim to reach that level,” Oleg Kozhemyako said.

Furthermore, the Russian governor expressed his willingness to further develop co-operation in the area of youth sports.
